Question1-4
What will happen to entrance quotas for national universities from now on?
Answer
Since coordination from the standpoint of national government policies such as the cultivation of human resources will be necessary, and since they will be the basis for the calculation of administrative expense subsidies, enrollment quotas of undergraduate and graduate students of national universities after incorporation will be prepared by and listed by national university corporations in interim plans that will be approved by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Coordination between each national university corporation and MEXT will be carried out while also keeping circumstances at each university in mind.
Changing the quotas for courses of study and majors without an accompanying increase in the total number of students in each undergraduate or graduate department will be possible in principle through decisions by each corporation.
